2017 Mizuno MAXCOR Review

Below you will find the 2017 Mizuno Generations Review. I will be upfront with you all. I am not a huge baseball fan. I am more into football, however, my husband is big on baseball and plays on a team twice a week. He is always reading about the newest baseball bats and searching for the newest technologies that are available in the bats being manufactured to help his game. I have researched the Mizuno Generations baseball bat along with utilizing my husband's vast knowledge to bring you a comprehensive review that I hope will help you to find out if this is the right bat for you and keeping you for an endless online search to find information.

For the most part, the 2017 Mizuno Generations Baseball Bat has some great modifications from that of the 2016 Mizuno Generations Baseball Bat. The most important modifications that have been made is a great, more solid sound when the ball is hit by the baseball bat and the baseball bat has been equipped with with a much lighter swing. Both of these modifications have been created by a newly constructed and weighted end cap. I go into more specifics below on this. Pricing on the 2017 Mizuno Generations baseball bat varies greatly depending upon where you get it from. I suggest checking online through Amazon.

The 2017 Mizuno Generations Baseball Bat Is Recommended If The Following Applies

The 2017 model is a single piece alloy baseball bat and is balanced. This is the same as earlier models of the Mizuno Generations Baseball Bats. With this being said, there is a certain clientele that looks for this type of bat. The higher profile baseball player will most likely not like this certain bat, however, this bat is recommended for baseball players who fit any of the following:

  • If you are a baseball player who is okay with a bat that doesn't generate enough speed to see a real stinging of the hand or is okay with miss-hits with ring in the hands.
  • If you are looking for or are more comfortable with a small barrel baseball bat, such as that which is found in a single-piece, alloy bat.
  • If you are looking for a great baseball bat for a great price or find yourself on a budget.
  • If you are looking for a bat that is better quality than you would find in a retail store that carries your just run of the mill alloy baseball bat, but doesn't cost an arm and a leg as some of the higher quality composite baseball bats.

The 2017 Mizuno Generations Baseball Bat Is Not Recommended If The Following Applies

Research shows that the single-piece, alloy baseball bats equipped with a lighter swing are best for the more inexperienced or younger baseball players. What I mean by inexperienced is a baseball player who isn't capable of generating speed or being able to tabulate the speed of a pitch. These come with more experience and without it can cause considerable ring hands. If this does not sound like you and you have more experience, I would suggest this bat is not for you. The following also would suggest a different type of bat for you. Keep in mind, you don't have to fit all the following criteria to try a different baseball bat. Fitting one of the following should cause hesitation prior to purchasing the 2017 Mizuno Generations Baseball Bat. You will find much more success with a different type of bat if:

  • You are a more experienced baseball player that prefers two-piece baseball bats with more smoothness.
  • You are searching for a baseball bat with a larger sweet spot and an over-sized barrel.
  • You have a larger amount of money to spend on a baseball bat.
  • You are a more muscular player who wishes to have a baseball bat with more weight on the end cap.

Construction Of The 2017 Mizuno Generations Baseball Bat

The 2017 Mizuno Generations model is mainly constructed the same way as that of the previous year's “Generations” model. The biggest change being that of the end cap, which we will go into more detail in a minute. The “Generations” baseball bat is still designed as a one-piece baseball bat manufactured out of alloy but comes with an inner barrel wall that is tapered to help in expanding the sweet spot on the bat. A special design of helix is used to assist with dampening the stings on miss-hits.

The 2017 Mizuno Generations baseball bat is comparable to other single-piece bats made out of alloy with the exception of the barrel on the bat. It is considered to be above the average with its over-sized barrel. Even with this being said, a single-piece alloy bat will never be able to be in direct competition with an over-sized barrel, two-piece composite or hybrid base ball bat. Even being above the average, it will not be able to compete with these types of baseball bats.

End Cap Of The 2017 Mizuno Generations Baseball Bat

When buying a baseball bat, the end cap might be the most popular overlooked thing. I would assume that many parents or new players haven't paid close attention to the barrel end or anywhere close to the size of the barrel, the grip, the knob, and the transition. In my opinion, the end cap is worth noting. It is important to keep in mind that becoming a successful hitter relies heavily on the end cap of the baseball bat.

Keeping that in mind, the 2016 model and the 2017 model differ greatly. The 2017 model has had a complete overhaul done on the end cap. The new model is denser and much lighter, which in turn allows the hitter a darker sound when the ball is hit and a lighter bat swing weight, also known as, MOI. The company has stated that their new lighter end cap will assist the player to receive better results. It is clear to see that the new 2017 version of the Mizuno Generations Baseball Bat is a great choice for those with less experience or a tighter budget. It's a great baseball bat for a great value.
